Our Story
About Curatery
Two sisters. One idea. And a lot of nostalgia for the internet we used to love.
Think of us as your internet aunties.
We are two sisters who grew up in the golden age of the internet, the early and mid 2000s, when the web was a genuine discovery engine. Back then, you explored. You stumbled. You clicked something you did not expect and ended up somewhere wonderful.
Where We Came From
In the beginning it was a little bare. Early 2000s internet had a certain charm to it, that scrappy handmade quality of something being built in real time by real people figuring it out. And then, in what felt like just a few years, it exploded.
Sites like Bloglovin let you follow real people and actually interact with them. Papercrave was where stationery enthusiasts collected and talked about beautiful paper things, a niche corner of the internet that felt like finding a room full of people who understood you. Pinterest and Piczo leaned into the desire to collect, curate, and share. Mindsay was invite only, which made getting in feel like something. A little exclusive, a little special, and very connected. The more connected you were, the more cool things you had access to. Friendships were the currency.
The internet had so many different flavors. So many different rooms to wander into. It was a discovery platform powered by humans.
What Happened
Over time, that diversity started to fade.
Social media consolidated everything into a handful of platforms, and those platforms learned quickly that outrage travels faster than delight. The feed got louder. The rooms disappeared. And the spontaneity, that feeling of genuinely not knowing what you were about to find, got optimized away.
Now you connect with people through one minute videos you will probably never be able to find again, much less remember. The internet is more connected than ever and somehow feels more disorganized and disjointed than it ever has. You can see everyone, but you can not find anything.
We miss being able to enjoy the internet the way we used to. The way it felt spontaneous and fun and genuinely connecting. The way it made you feel like you had found something.
Why We Built Curatery
Curatery is our attempt to bring some of that back.
Corners are our digital goods marketplace. Printables, templates, and downloads worth having. Things you will actually use, not just save and forget.
The Nooks and Finds are where discovery lives. Articles, websites, and creators organized by topic and chosen by real people with real taste. A place you can come to and actually find something again, even if you did not know you were looking for it yet.
Both sides share the same standard. Curated, intentional, and free of the noise that has made so much of the internet feel so exhausting.
What We Stand For
- Curation over algorithm. Everything here was chosen by a person. Nothing appears by accident.
- Quality over quantity. A smaller, better collection beats a larger mediocre one every time.
- Delight over outrage. We are not competing for your attention by making you angry. We are earning it by making your time here worth it!
- Transparency always. Sponsored content is labeled. Reviews are verified. We say what we mean (and mean what we say!)
Come In
If you have been looking for a quieter corner of the internet, one that feels like it was made by people rather than optimized by machines, this is it.
We are glad you found us. :)
